It was a 50-year old dark pool pavilion- with a tiny water closet and shower. Now it is a Roman courtyard-bath, which connects a lady’s bedroom and her swimming pool.
A large steam shower bargains the alternate comfort of a hot steam and a cool swim. French doors are welcoming the view of the surrounding private garden. Light and air come in through a new window and a skylight. White, Carrara marble in many forms and sparkling blue mosaic remains a classic color scheme. Gold-veining mirrors are planted on the cabinet doors. Mirrors are carefully positioned, avoiding the multiple mirror effect, but doubling space & light.
The path of travel from the bedroom leads to both the Roman pool and the steam-room, or to the sink vanity and the makeup table, where the lady enjoys the comforts of personal care.
